Carnivores

Distribution

The ancestors of Carnivores started about 60 million years ago and were able to spread across Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. They evolved into their distinct families as the continents separated. Some became extinct in North America but were able to re enter when the Bering strait was a land bridge and Jaguars, Pumas and Spectacled bears made their way into South America. Some re entered the ocean about 25 million years ago and evolved into todays seals, Sea lions and Walruses.
