Distribution
From a tiny shrew like creature with fur and warm blood scurrying about in the trees among dinosaurs over two hundred million years ago mammals have evolved to fill all the niches left by the demise of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. They had the advantage of being small warm blooded omnivores that could adapt to survive the extinction event. Starting when all the land continents were part of Pangea they have evolved as the continents have split apart. Now can be found in most areas except the remotest islands and inland Antarctica.
