New Zealand Kaikoura The resident population of sperm whales at Kaikoura can be seen all year round. Orca (killer whales) may be seen from December to March, and humpback whales in June and July. Several dolphin species are seen almost daily.
Australia Bremer Bay Bremer Bay is a great location for whale watching. Each year, from July - October, Southern Right whales, and occasionally Humpback whales, are seen along the coastline. February and March bring Orcas to the Bremer Bay Canyon which is located 70km offshore from Bremer Bay.
Portland Southern Right Whales can be spotted close to shore and even into the harbour at Portland from May to October. Blue whales are mostly spotted from November to May. Cape Nelson and Cape Bridgewater are two of a few places in the world where blue whales can be seen feeding.
Ningaloo The best time to see and swim with Whale Sharks at Exmouth is from March to August.
Hervey bay The whale watching season in Hervey Bay runs from July - November. The whales start to arrive in July and tours begin in the middle of the month.
Bargara Ranger guided encounters operate seven nights a week from November to March. Nesting turtles are best viewed after dark, from November to January and Turtle hatchlings are best viewed at night from January to March.
Lady Elliot Island Lady Elliot is one of the top five destinations on Earth for diving with manta rays. You can snorkel or dive with manta rays all year round (though they congregate in larger numbers between May and September).

Indonesia Savu Sea Migrating Cetaceans in Alor and the Savu Sea Pygmy blue whales can be seen as they migrate north from late May to early July and South in October. Feeding in the Savu sea June to August.
Cenderawasih bay , West Papua You can spot whale sharks all year round, but it's best to encounter them at Kwatisore Bay, near Nabire. It's also recommended to dive in the morning, since they are often seen in the early hours.
Talisayan Derawan in East Kalimantan , Botubarani, Kabila Bone, Bone Bolang, Gorontalo, Saleh Bay, Sumbawa Labuan Jambu, a village neary the bay. Reach this site from the Sultan Muhammad Kaharuddin III Airport in Sumbawa Besar, then continue the journey of about 100 km to Labuan Jambu. Also Encounter Whale Sharks June to Sept.
Sri Lanka In Mirissa, the best time for whale watching is from November to April next year; in Trincomalee, the best time is from May to September as whales continue their migrations around the island from the south coast. Blue Whales, Sperm Whales.
Nepal and India National Parks housing tiger populations open their gates between October and June, but the best time of year to see tigers is from February to April. During this time of year, temperatures begin to climb so tigers start to gather at watering holes.
AFRICA
Uganda The best time to visit Uganda is between its two dry seasons: December to February and between June and August. These times are the best for trekking to see mountain gorillas and chimpanzees.
South Africa The KwaZulu-Natal sardine run of southern Africa occurs from May through July when billions of sardines – or more specifically the Southern African pilchard Sardinops sagax – spawn in the cool waters of the Agulhas Bank and move northward along the east coast of South Africa.
Kenya This crossing usually occurs at Mara River around late July to August with parts of September and again on their return south, around the last two weeks of October through early November. Hence, the best times to track and see the annual wildebeest migration in Masai Mara.
Tanzania From October to February each year. November and December is the most reliable time for whale sharks sighting at Mafia Island.
North America
Alaska Gray whales are the first to arrive, typically in April when they're often spotted off of Seward. By May, we start to see more orcas, then humpback whales come June. Alaska's peak whale season is considered to be May through September, and it's during this time that the boat tours operate.
Vancouver April to October, with the peak season occurring from May to September. During this time, a variety of whale species can be found in the waters off the coast, including killer whales (also known as orcas), Humpback whales, and Grey whales.
Monterey Bay Gray Whale pass South in Oct and November and North with calves in April to May Killer Whales and Dolphins. Blue Whales May to October Humpback Whales, Blue Whales and Dolphins, feeding on krill.
Baja Gray Whales Dec to Feb, Blue Whales Nov to March and Whale sharks Oct to May.
