Wildlife.

3000 Humpback whales Head past the coast on their migration from Antarctica to the tropics to breed , Northbound from June to August and back down south with their calves From August to October.

Turtles, mainly Loggerhead and Green breed on the Cost from November to March.

Koalas live on the Coast and can be seen at Noosa National Park year round, also in the Hinterland especially around Kenilworth. Grey Kangaroos can be seen at University of the Sunshine coast, Twin waters and several golf courses, as well as the Hinterland areas.

History.

The Area is mainly raised sea floor from over 200million years ago, with several basalt infusions. The glasshouse mountains are an example of this where the surrounding  sedimentary rock has weathered away.
